Whether students should have less homework Nowadays, the topic of "Whether students should have less homework" is a heated debate. Somebody will says that students should have less homework as it can decrease students stress whereas somebody says that students should have more homework since it can deepen students's that students' study memory. In my opinion, students should have less homework because students will feel pleasant since they can do more things that they like. Now, I will from two aspects as "reduce student's burden" and "students will more enjoy extra-curricular events" detail students should have less homework. After considering the amount of extra-curricular activities that students can enjoy and the amount of stress students can bear, I am in favorof giving students less homework. First, as for reducing student's burden, giving students less homework can reduce their stress.Nowadays, students should do more and more homework and sit for the exams. At the same time, they should prepare for their test, so they will have a lot of stress. We frequently can hear that the students jump off the building as they get a bad result in test, or have mental diseases on the TV. For example, according to the news that I watched, a students jumped off the building since he could not in thecollege as well worrying it will let their parents feel sad. From the above example, it can be concluded that students are suffering from stress and thus there is no point giving students more and more homework so that students will feel relaxed.
Second, as for students will more enjoy extra-curricular events. If students have less homework, they will enjoy their extra-curricular events more. It is because they will not worry that they cannot finish the homework. Moreover, by joining the events, students also can reduce the stress as they can do things that they like. For instance, sinceIhave more homework that I should do, Idid not join any extra-curricular events when I was in F.4. But, when I was junior form, I joined more and more events, such as basketball team and judo. I felt very glad at that time, and sinceI worked out, I was healthy. So, if students have less homework, they can do their favorite things, and then they will feel cheerful andmaintain good health.
Many may hold a different view that students can consolidate what they have learnt in the lessons by doing more homework and thus their final results will be improved. As a result, better academic results are beneficial for their future. However, I do have reservations about the above comments. Isn't it too narrow-minded to nurture students who only perform well academically? The government always advocate the idea of nurturing all-rounded students who should not only excel academically but also in extra-curricular areas as well. I do have some reservations about the above opinion. I think if students want to deepen the memory that is not only one way, perhaps they can buy some exercises to do when they are free.
To conclude, I think students should have less homework that they can reduce their burden, and join more events. 修改后: Whether students should have less homework Nowadays, the topic of "Whether students should have less homework" is a heated debate.
